Paul is a graduate of the University of Alberta (B.COMM. 1969, LL.B. 1972). He was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1973 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1994. His preferred areas of practice include corporate and commercial law with an emphasis on corporate reorganizations, residential/commercial real estate and Wills and Estates.

In addition to his involvement with the Law Society of Alberta, Paul has been a lecturer for the Bar Admissions Course, and is a past-Director of the Centre for Family Literacy and Prospects Literacy Foundation. He is a founding member of the Shaun Anthony Lewis Cable Foundation.
