Owen J. Nicholson is a dedicated civil and commercial dispute resolution and litigation lawyer. Owen is experienced in handling a wide array of matters including contractual, commercial, and corporate, employment, defamation, intellectual property, wills and estates, real estate, insurance, and personal injury. Notably, his extensive background in the heavy construction and utilities industries enhance his expertise in the field of construction law.
Owen has successfully represented clients at the Alberta Court of King’s Bench, the Alberta Court of Justice, and the Provincial Court of British Columbia. He is also experienced in mediation and arbitration, having represented clients before the American Arbitration Association, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution Canada, Alberta’s Land and Property Rights Tribunal, and the Alberta Human Rights Commission.
As a graduate of the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law in 2020, Owen distinguished himself by advocating in French in a precedent-setting case at the Employment Insurance Commission of the Social Security Tribunal of Canada. He also holds a bilingual political science degree from the University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean, obtained in 2016.
