Patrick Coones completed his articles with McCuaig Desrochers LLP and became an associate at the firm in August 2019. He currently maintains a general practice and can assist in a variety of areas of law.
Patrick obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2018. During his time at the Faculty of Law, Patrick worked for Student Legal Services of Edmonton (SLS) and Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC). He served on the Executive Committee of SLS in 2017 as the PBSC Project Coordinator. Patrick also participated in various sport activities, including the Tortfeasors hockey team and Bearristers rugby team.
Patrick received several awards and distinctions for his involvement in not-for-profit work, including The Genevieve Veale Memorial Award and the Pro Bono Champions of the Future Award.
Having grown up in Edmonton’s French Quarter, Patrick is also fully bilingual. Outside of work, Patrick enjoys a variety of activities, including hockey, softball, golfing, hiking and fishing.
