Associate Lawyer

McCuaig Desrochers LLP is seeking an Associate Lawyer to join our team and work alongside our group of experienced lawyers and support staff to provide high-quality legal services to our clients.

Your responsibilities as an associate lawyer may include (depending on practice areas):

  • Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents, including pleadings, applications, briefs, and agreements
  • Representing clients in court proceedings, negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations in areas of civil litigation or family law
  • Providing legal advice and guidance to clients on various legal issues, including business, corporate, and commercial matters
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents related to commercial transactions, including contracts, agreements, and leases
  • Assisting clients with corporate governance matters, including shareholder agreements, resolutions, and board meetings
  • Providing legal advice and guidance to clients on various legal issues
  • Managing client files, including correspondence, documentation, and billing
  • Collaborating with senior lawyers and support staff to ensure excellent client service and effective case management

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor or LLB degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta or equivalent Canadian accreditation
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
