McCuaig Desrochers has an immediate full-time Conveyancer opportunity working with their exceptional group of lawyers!
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following core duties:
- Managing between 10-25 files/month
- Complete basic due diligence registry searches (Corporate Registry, Personal Property Registry, Land Titles, Tax Searches, etc.)
- Communicate with clients to provide updates on the status of their file
- Receipt, review and preparation of mortgage instructions
- Building a positive rapport with staff, lawyers and clients
- Follow instructions and be able to thrive in a professional team environment
Key Qualifications and Education:
In addition to experience with the above, the candidate would have the following background, skills and experience:
- A paralegal diploma or legal assistant certificate or diploma from a recognized institution
- Minimum 3 years of residential experience
- Experience with commercial transactions is an asset
- Strong attention to detail is required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- The ability to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines
- A positive, self-starter attitude with the ability to take initiative
- A high level of professionalism while working closely with lawyers, staff and clients
